San Giorgio a Cremano
Come visit San Giorgio it's the 3rd most populated city of the world for density of population/square km. It's been covered by the lava tons of times and so the oldest thing is from the 1700... it's really interesting and green and has beautiful villa

La Piazza Principale!

Nail polish?
Smalto?

Asparagus?
Asparago?

Planetario?

Wow, Liz Taylor?

Asparagus? Asparago?
Feed me that!

Voglio mangiarlo!

Napoli Comicon

Did you miss me? I went to Naples' Comic Coonvention. I'll give you a little tour now.
The con was held in this castle all the way up on the Vomero and so to climb up there you had to ride a cable car. The famous Funiculare of the song Funiculì Funiculà...

Stazione di Montesanto all on booooard!

Access to the Cumana line.
Bellissimo accesso alla linea Cumana.

But we are not interested we have to take the funiculaaaar!

The beautiful and brand new station in such an old area of Naples.
I find it wonderful.

Up we gooooo!
'ncoppa jamme ja! Funiculi Funicula

The Vomero station and the castle.
La stazione del vomero... e il castello.

After and endless line we finally manage to get in.
It's crowded and cold inside while outside is nice and warn, although windy.
I caught a cold, of corse, why should I be spared when going in and out from the castle?

Lunch break at Vanvitelli and if you want to eat pizza you have to eat it in Naples.
Pranzo da Vanvitelli. Affollatissimo... ma buonissimo.

Surprise!!!

Fried mix: Fried dough, supplì,
potatoes crokkè, mozzarella and
eggplant.
Frittino misto: zeppole, crocchette, supplì, mozzarelli e melanzane.

No that's not pepperoni! Forget it! it's salamino piccante! Spicy pizza.

La pizza di Emy, bella piccantina.

Margherita. That's mozzarella, not cheese.

Margherita.

Fresh tomatoes, arugola and mozzarella. Just so you know Italian Mozzarella is not poisoned like they said in the past few weeks (and it was found out it was a fake set of mozzarella coming from some other countries with Italian name on it that gave bad name to our cheese). Proof enough I ate and am alive and kicking. We all know what dioxin does... and my skin is as beautiful as ever!

Pizza pomodorini, mozzarella e rucola.

To top it off... limoncello and cream of melon. The second one is to die for!

Great view from the Castle.... and while I was looking I realized that... Naples has a big heart.

Can you see the heart of Naples?
Lo vedete il cuore?

here's a map of what i was looking at... now, do you see it?
E' bello grande, no?

Napoli ha un grande cuore.

Naples has a big heart.

And by the way that's the Vesuvio down there... the one that destroyed Pompei and Ercolano. Now, ain't that something?
I was staying for the past 3 days at the very feet of the vulcano, in a place called San Giorgio a Cremano. Apparently San Giorgio is the 3rd most populated place on earth after Tokyo and Portici. Believe me when I say: no kidding! It was a bee-hice.
Anyways, scientist do say that the next time the Vesuvio will erupt will be Explosive, therefore the population won't have any time to run away and all the drills they do every couple of years will be useless. In fact they'll be dead before they know but neapolitans will have enough time to run away, just the ones who live at the very bottom of the vulcano won't. How unlucky the place is superpacked and there's no room for running but even if there was it would be useless.
I find it amazing how people go and live in these challenging places like... California. Byt what the heck, we are risking a Big One in Italy too so... I guess we are all just a bunch of idiots and Nature will have the best of us.

I went to the countryside to see the appletrees...
I planted some flowers and other types of vegetables.
It was nice and warm and I walked around in a t-shirt.
I talked to a cat for 20 minutes and made jokes to a dog.
Ho piantato fiori e vegetali.

We opened the house and cleaned it. Ate under the porch.
The meal was nice and simple, still a typical sunday meal.

bruschetta with scamorza.

Abbiamo aperto casa e l'abbiamo pulita. Abbiamo mangiato sotto il portico. Un pasto semplice ma domenicale.

Olives. These were appetizers.

baked anelletti.

Mario barbecued some fishes... I thought he was overgrilling them
so I kept telling him: I think they are dead now.

Mario ha grigliato del pesce... secondo me lo stava grigliando troppo e quindi continuavo a ripetergli: secondo me adesso è morto.

Eeer a Totano (giant squid) and some dead fish.

The afternoon was beautiful... and warm.

Pomeriggio meravigliosamente tiepido.

Perfect weather to look at apple's flowers.

After a walk back home...
Dopo una passeggiata verso casa...

My mom picks up asparagus.

La mia mamma si dà alla macchia...
di asparagi.

The last ones for the season.

Gli ultimi della stagione.

It was a nice, relaxing, fulfilling day! I planted so many flowers and vegetables (some of them I will eat next year but you have to plant them now for the following one). Some flowers will be blooming in summer, others in september/october... So I'll have colors from now until october.
I also put some more grass around my rock garden, I found out the one I chose is very resistant. It does not die in the cold and not even when it's too hot and dry. The type of grass I like, evergreen, short and cute looking.
So I rode into the sunset and went back home... and here I am talking about it.
