This is it: the book is done!

Credo proprio di aver finalmente finito la stesura del libro. è stata una strana avventura, molto divertente, l'ho presa tanto sottogamba pensando fosse tutto uno scherzo... "ma non è una cosa seria mi sono detta"... invece ridendo e scherzando la Jar edizioni mi ha convinta.

So it's done. Since the proposal to write a book abou gashapon was almost a joke, I took it as a game and jot it down in a week or so. Honestly it was no joke and in the end the publisher was right. I could be done.

Poteva essere fatto. La mia curiosità mi ha portata a confrontare centinaia di pagine di Wikipedia in diverse lingue, volevo essere sicura di non dire cavolate, che tutto quello che si legge nelle aste di ebay e per i siti fosse vero. Questi gashapon hanno una storia, da noi sono arrivati tardi, decisamente, ma in Giappone sono oggetto di culto e collezionismo da tanti anni, oramai...

It could be done. I had to compare hundreds of pages of wikipedia in different languages, I did it out of curiosity but then again I had to be sure I wasn't writing bullshit, that all you read on ebay and websites were real. These gashapons have a history, they got to us only recently but, definitely they have been around for ages in Japan, collected for many years now...

Dopo aver scritto cose, spero utili, in maniera autoironica e scherzosa... mi sono trovata persino davanti la possibilità di creare dei personaggi l'Hunter (il collezionista) e la sua preda (il Gashapon). Sono riuscita a disegnare vignette che raccontavano una storia nella storia, diverse chiavi di lettura di una stessa tematica. I collezionisti... siamo pazzi... perché non dirlo? perché negarlo? Non è più divertente prendere in giro noi stessi prima che lo facciano gli altri con cattiveria?

After writing what I hope would be useful informations in a funny and ironic way... I found myself in front of the chance to create characters the Hunter (the collector) and his prey (the gashapon). I was able to draw sketches/vignettes that portrayed the same theme in a different way telling a story inside the story. Us collectors... we are crazy... why not say so? Why deny it? Isn't it better to make fun of ourselves in a cute way before others do it in a wicked way?

In questo libro siamo ritratti io e i miei amici... Nyoma, Queensimo, Romy, Nat... ci siete anche voi. Siete stata fonte di grande ispirazione e gli amici si aiutano a vicenda no? Io prendo gli aiuti senza chiederli hahahaha. Ci sono anche i miei genitori con le loro piccole manie. C'è il furbone nigeriano che ha cercato di frodarmi... il collezionismo è fatto dalle persone, questo è un libro sulle persone, forse questo renderà questo saggio un po' più umano e simpatetico a chi vorrà porvarlo per farsi quattro risate.

In this book I portrayed myself and my friends... Nyoma, Queensimo, Romy, Nat... you are in it too. You were great inspiration for me and that's what friends are for, to help each other, well I took your help without asking hahahaha. My parents are in it too, with all their little manias. There's nigerian smartpants who tried to fraude me... collecting is made by people, this is a book about people, maybe this will make this essay a little more human and sympathetic to those who would like to try it and have a good laugh.

E per lo stile di scrittura... chi mi conosce dai forum sa come mi esprimo. Pensate a 140 pagine di Deda che vi fa sganasciare a quel modo!!! Ha ha ha... è un incentivo mi auguro!

As for the writing style, who knows me from mailin lists knows the way I express myself. Imagine 140 pages of deda that makes you laugh like that! hahahaha that should be enough to you!
