My brand new Mocaw...

I bought a wacom tablet for drawing in 2003. Those things have like replacement parts an a warranty that goes on for ever. Still some parts of them will wear off and you'd have to change them: pen tip, buttons, handle, plastic sheet.
It so happened that my sheet got scratched because after 6 years of drawing plastic would wear off... it got to a point that where I got the scratches I could not draw straight lines any longer.
I tried to find the replacement online but my model is out of production.
I contacted wacom and asked them if they had any parts left. They said no. I asked them if any of their recent models had a plastic sheet similar that I could use it. They said no but I could return my wacom and get a 20% discount on a new Intuous.
....

Okay

...

But those are very expensive right now... and they cost 200 more euros than they should in Italy. I need to find a cheaper way to get a better one!

So I tried to hang in there using all kinds of plastic and such to help me smoothen the surface but to no avail... in the end, last night, I got so upset I pull the plastic sheet out and started drawing on the rough tablet....

....

... then I looked at the sheet.... and it was smooth on the other side!

There, I got double side tape, stuck the thing backward and I got a Mocaw tablet now and it works!
